The Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) will be holding its 12th Convocation Ceremony at the International Convention Centre in Berakas on Saturday.
His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Chancellor of KUPU SB is scheduled to grace the convocation ceremony and present certificates and diplomas to intending graduates.
Some 243 intending graduates will receive certificates and diploma in various programmes and disciplines, KUPU SB Director of International and Public Relations Pengiran Siti Khatijah binti Pengiran Sulaiman said during a press conference yesterday.
These include two PhD programmes, five Master of Religious Education, 50 postgraduate Diploma, 93 Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Education and 101 in Higher Diploma in Religious Education.
Attendants must undergo ART screening and upload the results to the BruHealth app. Those feeling unwell are advised against attending the ceremony.
Meanwhile, a number of side events will be held in conjunction with the convocation ceremony.
A recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman, the late parents of His Majesty, and for His Majesty’s late son Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim was held yesterday.
Ra’es of KUPU SB Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar attended the ceremony which took place at the Royal Mausoleum.
Core officers, lecturers, staff and undergraduates who will graduate at the convocation were also present.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by Yaasin and Tahlil led by KUPU SB Core Knowledge Centre lecturer Haji Md Noor bin Haji Ibrahim.
There will also be a Kesyukuran ceremony, Khatam Al-Quran and signing of memorandum of understanding (MoU) with foreign universities, presentation of excellent academic awards and handover of Waqaf on Sunday.
