His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, underscored the importance of sustaining progress and long-term strategic planning for Brunei Shell Joint Ventures (BSJVs).
Chairing the 225th Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei LNG Sendirian Berhad (Brunei LNG) and the 111th Board Meeting of Brunei Gas Carriers Sendirian Berhad (BGC) for the First Quarter of 2025 on Wednesday, His Majesty commended the achievements made throughout 2024 in key operational areas. His Majesty stressed that maintaining this momentum is crucial to ensuring continued growth, competitiveness, and sustainability.
His Majesty also highlighted the vital role of employees and leadership in driving performance, calling for unwavering dedication in strengthening the industry’s resilience. His Majesty reiterated that long-term planning is essential to securing the future of BSJVs, laying a solid foundation for sustained success in Brunei’s energy sector.
The meeting, held at the Prime Minister’s Office building, addressed critical areas including safety, operational performance, financials, and manpower development while setting the strategic direction for both Brunei LNG and BGC.
Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah and Deputy Minister (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, in their capacity as members of the Brunei LNG and BGC Board of Directors.
The meeting was attended by key stakeholders, including Shareholder Directors representing the Government of His Majesty, Shell plc, and Mitsubishi Corporation, along with senior management from Brunei LNG and BGC.
His Majesty is also scheduled to chair the 414th Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei Shell Petroleum Sdn Bhd (BSP) and the 192nd Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei Shell Marketing Sdn Bhd (BSM) for the First Quarter of 2025 on Thursday, February 20.
