His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam arrived in Washington DC yesterday to attend the ASEAN-United States (US) Special Summit.
Accompanying His Majesty is His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.
Present to welcome the arrival of His Majesty at Joint Base Andrews Airport was Chief of Protocol for the United States Ambassador Rufus Gifford.
Also present at the airport to greet His Majesty were Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof and Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to the US Dato Paduka Haji Serbini bin Haji Ali.
Prior to the special summit, His Majesty is also expected to attend a dinner with ASEAN Leaders, hosted by US President Joe Biden. The summit will be held today and tomorrow.
