The generosity of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam once again brought joy to the underprivileged in the country, particularly as they prepare to welcome Syawal.
A number of recipients in Temburong District expressed their deep gratitude for His Majesty’s kurnia peribadi, which allows them to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri with greater joy.
In an interview, 10-year-old Ainul Mardiah Masyitah binti Abdullah, accompanied by her mother, Farah Aina binti Sani, shared her appreciation for the annual personal gift. Farah Aina noted that the assistance has been received every year before Syawal, helping to cover Ainul Mardiah Masyitah’s needs, daily expenses and educational necessities.
“Ainul Mardiah Masyitah was referred to the Child Development Centre at the age of two, and this marks the eighth year she has received His Majesty’s personal gift in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri,” she said.
Another recipient, Muhammad Ashim Amrullah bin Abdul Rahman Menchok @ Degelas Manchok, praised the monarch’s deep concern for the well-being of his people.
“His Majesty is a leader with a strong sense of compassion for the welfare of his people,” he said.
“This is the fifth year I have received His Majesty’s personal gift under the welfare assistance category,” he added, explaining that the aid helps cover daily expenses and preparations for Hari Raya, particularly for his wife and children.
He expressed his gratitude for the monarch’s care for underprivileged groups, ensuring they can celebrate Hari Raya with meaning and dignity. – Fadley Faisal
