SEOUL (ANN/THE KOREA HERALD) – Samsung Electronics Co declared on Wednesday that its latest Galaxy S series smartphones have surpassed one million units in sales within just 28 days since their launch in South Korea.
Unveiled on January 16, the Galaxy S24 series reached this milestone on the previous day, surpassing the previous record set by the Galaxy S8 series from 2017 by a significant nine days, as confirmed by Samsung Electronics.
This achievement not only exceeded its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 series, by three weeks but also closely followed behind the Galaxy Note 10 smartphone released in 2019 by only three days, the company emphasised.
Among the total sales, the higher-priced S24 Ultra model dominated with a commanding 55 per cent share, while the more affordable Galaxy S24 Plus and Galaxy S24 collectively constituted the remaining portion.
With the introduction of on-device artificial intelligence for the first time, the Galaxy S24 series brings features like real-time translation for phone calls and enhanced camera capabilities, establishing a new benchmark in smartphone innovation for Samsung Electronics.
