The Minda Youth Movement (MYM) is organising a three-day carnival at Pusat Insani in Seria to commemorate the 40th National Day celebration.
Legislative Council member and Village Head of Kampong Bukit Sawat Yang Berhormat Mohammad bin Abdullah @ Lim Swee Ann was the guest of honour at the event which began yesterday.
MYM President Zulhilmi bin Ibrahim, in his speech, shared the history of MYM and its role in promoting volunteerism among youth in the Belait District. He also highlighted that the carnival aims to enliven the 40th National Day celebration and provide opportunities for small businesses.
Some of the activities during the carnival include a game of checkers led by Kampong Lorong Tiga Seria Village Consultative Council; a video on the first National Day celebration in 1984, a patriotic parade; and a Black Gold Journey competition. The carnival is organised in collaboration with the Mukim Seria Consultative Council and support from the Belait District Office, Plaza Sutera Biru and Majestic Event Organiser. – Daniel Lim
