The importance of having the right mindset and talent pool to build an innovative society to drive the nation’s innovation landscape was highlighted yesterday at the UNN Mindset and Talent Pool discussion during Innovation Symposium on ‘Discover the importance of having the right mindset and talent pool for driving innovation’.
Held at the Radisson Hotel in the capital, the panellists comprised Vice President of Innovation and Technology at imagine Sdn Bhd Joey Heng, Head of Entrepreneurship Innovation Centre at the Ministry of Education Adna Shatriremie bin Haji Abdul Rahman, founder and Director of Beep Digital Solutions Sdn Bhd Denny Muslim and Director of Innovation and Enterprise at Universiti Brunei Darussalam Pengiran Dr Emeroylarrifion Abas.
The panellists said, “Nurturing our leadership skills and talent pool transforms ourselves to become leaders in the future. Innovation has to be at fore front of the business. One must always innovate and differentiate our offering from the others. Innovation takes place in many ways, shapes and form including to make things and life easier,” the panelists added.
According to the panellists, “Mindset also plays an important role, for instance to improve better customers services and experiences.”
The panellists said, “We need to build the nation mindset and talent pool to produce innovators as innovation is always best thought with simplicity in education which exists in all multi-disciplinary and innovative culture.”
“There is also a call to innovate in teaching but we need to align more for the future of our graduates that fits the need of the industries.”
