Raya celebration continues

The Serikandi Group of Companies hosted a Hari Raya Aidilfitri gathering at the Bridex Hall, Jerudong on Tuesday.

Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof was the guest of honour.

In his opening remarks, the Chairman and Managing Director of Serikandi Group of companies, Shaikh Haji Khalid bin Shaikh Haji Ahmad, shared the company’s achievements since its establishment in 1974.

“This year, Serikandi Company will celebrate its 49th anniversary Insya Allah, we will celebrate our Golden Jubilee next year. Over the past four decades, the company has faced various challenges and events such as global currency crises, market uncertainty in oil prices, geopolitical instability, and, in the past three years, the world was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Alhamdulillah, Serikandi has been able to withstand and overcome these challenges and contribute to the government’s efforts in terms of the economy and local business development, especially in providing employment opportunities for locals and collectively contributing to the achievement of Brunei Vision 2035.

Shaikh Haji Khalid expressed deep appreciation to the Government of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam for providing a conducive environment for local companies to progress through the Local Business Deve-lopment Directives.

He also thanked the oil and gas companies for providing opportunities for them to continue serving and supporting the country’s economy and other sectors and their customers.

Guests joined together in cutting the Hari Raya Aidilfitri cake and proceeded to take a group photo.

The evening was further enlivened with performances of songs and dances, while guests were served a variety of food and beverages.


Police Cadet Team

The Police Cadet Team (PKP) recently organised a Hari Raya celebration at the Banquet Hall of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) headquarters.

Commissioner of Police Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Mohammad Irwan bin Haji Hambali was the guest of honour.

Also present were the Commander of Gadong Police Training Centre Senior Superintendent Haji Mohd Noor bin Haji Abdul Rahman, members of the Committee of Police Cadet Corps Supervising Teachers, as well as representatives from the Head of Uniformed Unit, Curriculum Development Department, Ministry of Education, Islamic Studies Department, higher education institutions, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan KUPUSB, Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE), principals of secondary schools, and representatives from Mahad Islam Brunei.

The celebration saw performances of festive songs by the schools. The event was organised and aimed to strengthen the bonds among the Police Cadet Corps and school teachers.

Kampong Lambak Youth Association (PERBEKAL)

As the festive season of Hari Raya Aidilfitri marks its final week of celebration, Kampong Lambak Youth Association PERBEKAL recently hosted a Hari Raya gathering at a restaurant in Jalan Tutong last Sunday.

Pengiran Haji Nordin bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud was the guest of honour, the event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Deputy President of PERBEKAL Pengiran Mahari bin Pengiran Haji Mohd Tahir.

Vice President I Siti Seriana binti Haji Mohd Yusof in her welcoming remarks emphasised on the importance of respect among PERBEKAL members and to appreciate contributions made by members especially the seniors.

About 100 members and their families attended the event which saw performances by members as well as a lucky draw and the best dressed award.

Village Head of Kampong Lambak ‘B’ Pengiran Jofri bin Pengiran Haji Zaidi as the co-chairman and Deputy Vice President II Pengiran Abd Aziz bin Pengiran Haji Md Tahir were also present.
