The Religious Ministers of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore (MABIMS) Halal Technical Committee meeting was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia recently.
The meeting under the Social Welfare Strategic Plan in conjunction with the Global Halal Summit (GHaS) 2023 saw Head of Public Relations, International and MABIMS Division at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Senior Special Duties Officer Haji Mohammad Albi bin Haji Ibrahim as Head of MABIMS Brunei Darussalam Secretariat; MoRA’s Syariah Affairs Department Nutrition Officer Nur Farizah binti Haji Dollah; and Syariah Affairs Department’s Halal Food Control Division Religious Officer Hazimah binti Haji Aji participating.
The meeting discussed halal certification cooperation among MABIMS member states and coordination of draft MABIMS halal memorandum of understanding (MoU).
The MoU, in line with MABIMS Strategic Plan 2021-2025, will be signed at the 20th meeting of MABIMS in Singapore in November. – Azlan Othman
