‘Flower’ patisserie opens its doors in Belait

Fiorise Patisserie was launched yesterday in the Belait District, which according to Melissa Gan Li Choo, is aimed at “bringing innovation in patisserie” to the district by “exploring French pastry and petite gateau”.

Melissa and co-owner Ivan Lim Kim Haw officiated the opening of the cafe.

Melissa shared that the name of the cafe is “a portmanteau of ‘fio’ (flower in Italian) and rise.”

Melissa and Ivan first ventured into entrepreneurship some two years ago in the form of a home business. The new cafe symbolises the continuation of their passion for baking.

Ivan said, “The business idea came from Melissan when she first realised that her passion for baking is undeniable, with her baking late into the night to fulfil customer orders. I recognised her talent in pastry, and so we decided to forge a business partnership and open Fiorise Patisserie.”

Fiorise Patisserie opens from Wednesday to Monday, from 9am to 6pm, with a midday break on Friday.

The cafe is running a three-day promotion for their pastries to commemorate the launch. – Daniel Lim
