RPN Kampong Mentiri Zone 2 Village Consultative Council
The RPN Kampong Mentiri Zone 2 Village Consultative Council held a national flag raising and waving campaign yesterday.
Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Lawi bin Haji Lamat was among those present.
The Acting Village Head of RPN Kampong Mentiri Zone 2 Haji Mohd Nizam bin Haji Julaihi called on all village committee members and villagers to participate.
“This is the time we hold an event to enliven the National Day celebration. We need to express our patriotic spirit and may our beloved country continue to prosper under the leadership of our beloved monarch,” said the acting village head.
The flag-hoisting and waving ceremony started at the residence of the acting village head and extended to the residences of selected villagers representing Zones 1-5. – Azlan Othman

The Mukim Gadong ‘A’ Consultative Council organised a flag-hoisting ceremony at the Gerai Aneka Ria of RPN Kampong Rimba in conjunction with the upcoming 40th National Day celebration.

Majlis Perundingan Mukim Pekan Tutong
Majlis Perundingan Mukim Pekan Tutong held a flag-hoisting ceremony at the Canopy Market area at Tutong District.
Among those present were Legislative Council (LegCo) member and Village Head of Kampong Sengkarai Yang Berhormat Abdul Aziz bin Haji Hamdan and Village Head of Mukim Pekan Tutong Haji Salim bin Haji Othman, along with village heads of Kampong Penabai Kuala Tutong, Kampong Penanjong, Kampong Panchor and Kampong Petani as well as Pekan Mukim Tutong Consultative Council members.
Yang Berhormat Abdul Aziz said the ceremony aimed to remind villagers to hoist their flags for national celebrations such as the National Day, to demonstrate loyalty and love for the country.
He said the flag should be hoisted correctly and respectfully by following the guidelines provided by the Information Department, while underlining the importance of hoisting flags that are not damaged, torn or faded. – Adib Noor
Baden Powell (BP) Guild
The Baden Powell (BP) Guild hosted a series of flag-hoisting ceremonies at special needs centres in the Belait District.
The guild first visited Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam in the Belait District and the Menara Cendera Kenangan.
BP Guild committee Chairman Beelie bin Tengah led the group during the event.
Meanwhile, BP Guild also visited Pusat Bahagia Eric Goh yesterday to conduct a flag-hoisting ceremony in the presence of special needs students and teachers of the centre.
The guild hoped the ceremonies helped uplift the sense of pride and patriotism among the special needs in appreciation of the significance of the act of flag-hoisting in commemoration National Day. – Daniel Lim
Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan
Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) held a flag-hoisting ceremony at its premises yesterday.
KUPU SB Ra’es Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar handed over the national flag to staff sergeant of the Army Cadet KUPU SB Amir Hamzah bin Zulkifli, the team head.
It was then followed by the hoisting of the flag, singing of the national anthem and the call of ‘Allahu Akbar’ three times by Dr Haji Adanan.
The event also saw a march-past by the Student Representative Council, uniformed team, including army cadets, police cadets, fire and rescue cadets, the scouts, girl guides, red crescent society team and Year 1 students.
The event aimed to enliven the 40th National Day celebration and cultivate the spirit of patriotism among the attendees. – Rokiah Mahmud
