In a community-focused initiative aimed at raising fire safety awareness, Temburong District’s Mukim and Village Consultative Council, in collaboration with the Fire and Rescue Department, held a Life Saver 995 briefing at the Belalong Hall, Community Complex in Mukim Bangar, Temburong District on Thursday.
The briefing, attended by about 92 participants, including acting village heads, council members, and residents, provided essential fire safety training to empower residents, particularly those living in longhouses and remote areas, with preventive measures and preparedness strategies. The event also featured practical demonstrations, firefighting techniques, and the distribution of safety posters.
The event underscored community engagement, with participation from village leaders, mukim heads, and representatives from the Temburong District Office. Present at the briefing was Member of the Legislative Council Haji Awang Sulaiman bin Haji Nasir, emphasising the importance of proactive safety measures to protect lives and property in rural and remote communities. – FADLEY FAISAL
