Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad handed over financial assistance to three families yesterday.
On September 6 at 7.48pm, a house belonging to Ramri bin Nona at RPN Kampong Bukit Beruang, Tutong District caught fire and destroyed a section of his house.
Meanwhile, two houses in Kampong Bakut Berumput and Kampong Lurong Dalam in Brunei-Muara District collapsed in two separate incidents on September 15 and 20.
The house belonging to Kartika binti Suhaimi collapsed fully while a section of Pengiran Norsiti Elvy Sunarti binti Pengiran Haji Terapin’s house was damaged.
No injuries from the incidents were reported.
The financial assistance from the Government of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was allocated under the Community Development Department (JAPEM). The assistance was aimed at easing the recipients’ financial burden. It also shows the care and concern of the government towards unfortunate citizens and residents.
