The Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB) distributed Zakat (tithe) to eligible recipients to help alleviate their burdens before Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivities.

Fifty heads of families from Temburong District received Zakat during a presentation ceremony at Utama Mohammad Salleh Mosque in Pekan Bangar.

Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar as MUIB Vice-President presented the Zakat as the guest of honour.

Earlier, the mosque hosted a Tedarus Al-Quran event for a Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) delegation, held in conjuction with the holy month of Ramadhan.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the guest of honour followed by Tadabbur Al-Quran by Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) student Mohammed Khairul Mu‘az bin Haji Sibodaud.

The event continued with Tedarus Al-Quran and recitation of Tahlil and Doa Arwah as well as the recitation of Doa Allah Peliharakan Sultan dan Brunei Darussalam.

The delegation of MoRA officers and staff will visit the Kampong Sungai Liang Mosque in Belait District on April 11 at 2pm.
