Fifteen orphans feted for academic achievements

Fifteen orphans received recognition of their academic achievements during an award ceremony by the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans (DANA) yesterday.

The orphans received the DANA Excellent Student Incentive Award (AIPC DANA) for 2024 after they achieved excellent results in public examinations last year.

Five students received AIPC DANA for achieving excellence result in the GCE ‘O’ Level examinations. The students each received a certificate of appreciation, a computer, a printer and BND760.

Another five students received the award for the Religious Primary Schools Education Certificate (SSSRU). They received a certificate of appreciation, a computer and printer unit, and savings worth BND500 credited in their DANA accounts at Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei.

Five students also received the award for excellent results in the Primary School Assessment (PSR).

They received a certificate of appreciation, a computer, a printer and BND400.

Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd ) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, who is also Chairman of the DANA Board of Trustees presented the awards to the students. Also present at the ceremony were Deputy Minister (Security and Law) at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Paduka Haji Sufian bin Haji Sabtu and senior officials. – James Kon
