Road users, who frequent Kampong Kiulap, were greeted with a huge surprise yesterday morning: a fallen tree blocking the lane and causing traffic congestion.
The tree was knocked down by heavy rain and strong winds the previous night, according to a public member.
According to the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department (BDMD), there are risks of flash floods, especially in low-lying and flood-prone areas as well as near river banks during continuous heavy rain, thus the public is advised to take precautionary action.
It also said small boat operators are particularly in danger during or near heavy and thundery showers as wind gusts can reach up to 45 kilometres per hour. – Azlan Othman
