Extending greetings to overseas personnel

Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof extended his Hari Raya Aidilfitri greetings to Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) officers and personnel serving overseas in a video conference at the Joint Force Headquarters RBAF last week.

RBAF Commander Major General Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Acting Permanent Secretary, Acting Joint Force Commander RBAF and Director of Intelligence were also present.

The minister interacted with defence attachés and advisors, heads of contingents from the International Monitoring Team in Mindanao, the Philippines (IMT-18), Malaysian Battalion 850-9 United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (MALBATT 850-9 UNIFIL), Independent Decommissioning Body Verification, Monitoring, and Assistance Team (IDB VMAT 4/2022), and RBAF’s liaison officer at the Information Fusion Centre (IFC) in Singapore.

The minister advised RBAF personnel abroad to exercise caution while performing their duties and missions, especially in areas with high risk of COVID-19 infection.

He underlined the importance of maintaining spiritual values and reciting Al-Quran daily in seeking Allah the Almighty’s blessing and grace as well as to uphold His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s titah during the Nuzul Al-Quran celebration last month.

The minister also reiterated on the importance of upholding the concept of Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB) in daily life and to maintain a high level of discipline to preserve the image of the RBAF and the Sultanate.

He hoped that overseas RBAF officers and personnel will continue to enhance relations with other forces, especially during Ramadhan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.
