A number of violations were found during a joint operation by the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) and several other enforcement agencies on Friday.
Six individuals in possession of alcohol and cigarettes were detained by the Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED), while five individuals were detained by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) over the alleged possession of drug paraphernalia.
Three violations were found by the Department of Electrical Services (DES) while the Labour Department found employers in violation of Employment Order 2009.
Meanwhile, the BSB Municipal Department found a restaurant that disposed of rubbish behind its premises.
Some 180 enforcement personnel from Brunei-Muara Police District headquarters, the RCED, the NCB, the Immigration and National Registration Department, the Internal Security Department, the Labour Department, the Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) Municipal Department and the DES took part in the operation to ensure that the general assembly and parade procession to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in the Brunei-Muara District tomorrow will run smoothly.
The operation was led by Brunei-Muara Police District’s operation Division ‘A’ assistant commanding officer DSP Pengiran Haji Khairul Hakimin bin Pengiran Haji Kamaludin with criminal investigation officer Mohammad Amerol bin Haji Metussin.
The targets of the joint operation were business premises on Jalan McArthur, Jalan Sultan and Jalan Roberts in the capital. – James Kon
