Students are mini ambassadors and should practice Bruneian values by maintaining and highlighting the commendable values of Bruneians as they will become an educated and highly skilled workforce contributing to the country, religion, monarch and nation.

This was stated by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah delivered during a get-together ceremony on Friday with citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam who are in Malaysia and Singapore. The ceremony was held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

The students were also reminded that in the excitement of browsing the Internet and using information technology, they should always be alert and careful not to share personal information that could expose them to cyber threats or crimes.

His Majesty was pleased to meet and greet the citizens and residents of the Sultanate, especially the students, government officials on duty and those on holiday with their families.

The monarch said the number of students from Brunei studying in higher education either inside or outside the country showed a good increase and gave positive interpretation for a culture of learning and seeking knowledge. This is the culture that will continue to be nurtured and developed.

His Majesty was confident that the students have high commitment, dedication and determination to achieve the right learning culture.

His Majesty said by studying abroad, students are able to compete with students from different environments. Such competition could produce quality human resources which is creative and progressive, and able to fend off any negative cultural shock.

The get-together ceremony was attended by His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam.
