EDP learns Ministry’s strategies

Some 35 participants of the Executive Development Programme (EDP) for Public Policy and Management for Senior Officers Series 17/2022, Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies (SHHBIDSS), Ministry of Defence (MinDef) paid a working visit to the Ministry of Education (MoE) yesterday.

The participants comprised 21 senior government officials with the rank of lieutenant colonel from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, an officer of the Royal Brunei Police Force, five senior officers from the Prime Minister’s Office; MinDef; MoE; and three senior foreign military officers from Indonesia, Oman and Singapore.

Acting Director of SHHBIDSS Haji Abdul Malik bin Haji Kamis led the delegation.

The visit was followed by a briefing at the lecture theatre of the School of Aviation, Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus, Institute of Brunei Technical Education.

It began with a welcoming speech from Acting Director of the Department of Planning, Development and Research of the MoE Dr Hajah Sallimah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, followed by a briefing by Senior Education Officer, Strategic Enterprise Performance and Delivery Unit (SEPaDU) of the MoE Haji Hairone bin Haji Abdul Rahman.

The briefing concluded with a questions and answers session with department representatives from the MoE. The visit aimed to allow better understanding of the vision and mission, policies and action plans of the MoE towards achieving Brunei Vision 2035 as well as to learn about the ministry’s strategies in ensuring quality education and learning methods comparable to other countries.
