Retirees were called on to volunteer their experience, skills and expertise acquired in years of government service to youth and grassroots programmes.
“Retirement is not the end point for us to spread devotion for the nation,” said Permanent Secretary (Civil Service Governance) at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Ajman bin Haji Meludin during the retirement ceremony for some 173 former officers and staff at the PMO yesterday.
“Armed with the skills, expertise and experience acquired while serving the government, I believe we can continue to actively provide valuable contributions to the community through various platforms, including sharing knowledge and experience with groups such as the youth as well as volunteer in programmes at the grassroots level,” he said.
The permanent secretary also thanked the retirees for their contributions, noting that their contributions “not only affect individuals, but also helped shaped the structure of our society. Your hard work has helped build a better future for the next generation”.
He added, “I hope you can look back on your career with pride and satisfaction. Your contribution goes beyond completing tasks. This includes overcoming the challenges faced and making positive changes.” Yesterday’s event was held to recognise the contributions of the PMO personnel who retired in 2022.
