DPMM FC will begin the road towards qualification in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup 2023/24 Group Stage against Yangon United in the Preliminary Round 2 at the Thuwwuna Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar on August 16.
The continental football governing body has officially released the match schedule of the preliminary and playoff matches involving all five AFC Zones.
The winner of the match between and Yangon United will advance into the playoff round where Indonesia’s PSM Makassar await on August 23.
The winner of the playoff match will subsequently book a spot in the group stage of the AFC Cup, which is slated to kick off in September.
DPMM FC, who gained an entry to the tournament as winners of the Brunei FA Cup last year, will be the second team to represent the country in the second-tier continental competition following Indera SC in 2020.
It will mark the club, who currently compete in Singapore’s top tier Singapore Premier League, maiden appearance in the competition.
DPMM FC have previously won the SPL twice in 2015 and 2019 but were not eligible to participate in the competition.
