DPMM FC emerged champions of the Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (FABD) Under-15 Youth League after edging Kasuka FC 1-0 in a thrilling final held at the FABD Field ‘A’ in Berakas yesterday.
The team’s forward Yunus Poljarevic netted a last-gasp winner in the dying moments of the match after being teed up by Muhammad Hafiy Hakim.
The Gegar Gegar boys pressed the Kasuka defence high up the pitch and forced an opposing defender to clear the ball out for a throw.
With Kasuka attempting to reorganise the defence, Muhammad Hafiy provided an assist to Yunus who deftly rolled the ball into the net past the goalkeeper.
The match-winning goal sparked jubilant scenes as officials and players jumped for joy.
DPMM FC Assistant Coach Subhi Abdilah said, “Alhamdulillah, it is our rezeki of becoming champions of the Brunei Under-15 Youth League this season.”
DPMM FC star Awangku Faris Fadillah bagged the Best Player Award while BSRC player Faris Ar Rayan scooped the Top Scorer Award with 10 goals.
Meanwhile, DPMM FC walked away with the Fair Play Award while Subhi Abdilah won Best Coach. – Fadhil Yunus
