Donations flow during Ramadhan

Institution of Surveyors, Engineers and Architects Brunei

The Institution of Surveyors, Engineers and Architects (PUJA) Brunei held a Khatam Al-Quran and presentation of donation to 17 underprivileged individuals.

The event began with Khatam Al-Quran led by imam Awangku Hassan Basri bin Pengiran Haji Ismail.

It continued with Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications Ir Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof, the guest of honour, and PUJA Brunei President Sr Haji Mohammad Hanafi bin Pehin Orang Kaya Di-Gadong Seri Diraja Dato Laila Utama Haji Abdul Rahman presenting donations to recipients selected by the Community Development Department (JAPEM).

The event concluded with iftar and Maghrib prayer.

Project Impian Cahaya Iman, WBC Prihatin Group

Some 150 individuals made up of orphans, single mothers and underprivileged were treated to iftar and received donations recently at Pisuk Babu Hall of Annajat Complex in Kampong Beribi.

Acting Director of the Social Services Division at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Haji Khairul Ariffin bin Haji Aji was the guest of honour at the event organised by Project Impian Cahaya Iman and WBC Prihatin Group.

The event began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Azame bin Alias followed by a speech from organising chairperson Faridah binti Haji Mohd Taufik.

Haji Khairul Ariffin presented gifts of Al-Quran to orphans and underprivileged children. It continued with the presentation of donations from representatives from Project Impian Cahaya Iman, WBC Prihatin, Rentokil Company, Shah Indra Company, Victorious Health and Fitness, Projek Kongsi Rezeki and Pertubuhan Kasih Slimmimi.

The event continued with a recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil led by Azame followed by iftar.

Unified National Networks

Unified National Networks (UNN) organised its first internal Ramadhan donation drive recently.

Donations were collected from employees to help 150 socially and economically challenged families.

UNN collaborated with local non-government organisation (NGO) Foodlife to provide monthly provisions for the families. UNN employees raised BND3,700 in cash and essential items.

Foodlife founder Aisyah Murni thanked UNN for the initiative and looks forward to more collaborations to make a positive impact on the community.

Brunei Darussalam Arbitration Centre Bhd

Brunei Darussalam Arbitration Centre Bhd (BDAC) organised a donation campaign for those in need on April 13 and 15.

The initiative is part of BDAC’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts. The donations were collected from BDAC members, Board of Directors, management, officers and staff.

The donations were in the form of basic food items such as rice, cooking oil and canned food.
