A Doa Kesyukuran ceremony was held yesterday at the Centre for Children with Special Needs (KACA) in Kampong Kiulap, commemorating the 38th anniversary of the centre’s establishment.
KACA President Dato Paduka Haji Zainal bin Haji Momin and the Managing Director Haji Awang Abdul Alim bin Haji Awang Othman were present at the ceremony.
Also present were KACA’s committee members, staff, parents, volunteers and members of the centre.
For the 2024/2025 period, several programmes and activities were outlined, including the Projek Menabung KACA (2021-2025), which aims to teach children independence and financial management.
Additionally, a KACA Storytelling Competition and a visit programme are planned. The visit will include parents, volunteers, and staff members travelling to centres for children with different abilities in Jakarta this year.
The centre, founded in 1986, aims to enhance the welfare of children with different abilities in the Sultanate by providing tailored guidance and training programmes. The initiatives help children become independent and capable of continuing their education in both government and private schools. – Rokiah Mahmud
