Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan visited Ma’had Islam Brunei in Tutong District yesterday.
The aim of the visit was to observe the admission of new students to the Arabic school and take a closer look at the school’s infrastructure and facilities.
The deputy minister also witnessed a demonstration of students’ award-winning information and communication technology (ICT) projects.
Ma’had Islam Brunei received two awards for ‘Mr Grabbish’ and ‘Brugency’ at the 22nd Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards 2023 in Hong Kong last month.
‘Mr Grabbish’ is an app for speedy rubbish pick-up while ‘Brugency’ is for contacting and providing information for emergency services.
Meanwhile, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim visited Bandar Seri Begawan Arabic Preparatory School yesterday to ensure adequate provision of facilities to turn the school into an environment that is conducive to learning.
Officers from MoRA’s Islamic Studies Department were present in both visits. – Azlan Othman
