Members of the civil service received special awards for their performance, innovation and service during the 31st Civil Service Day yesterday, recognising their contributions to the public sector.
The awards presented were Public Sector Performance Grading Programme (3PSA), the Premier Innovation Award (AIP) and the Excellent Civil Service Employee Award (APCPA) across various divisions. Additionally, select individuals were honoured with the special Civil Service Personnel Meritorious and Dedication Award (AKB2PA) for Division V. Among the award recipients was Director of the Department of Pharmaceutical Services at the Ministry of Health Hajah Zanatul ‘Aini binti Haji Zainin/Haji Jinin, who received a three-star recognition under the 3PSA category.
She said, “We are very grateful for this recognition. This evaluation helps us see our current performance and identify areas for improvement to enhance our services.”
The 3PSA evaluation, conducted last year by the Department of Management Services, was a follow-up to their initial 2016 assessment, where they also received a three-star rating.
“Our continued recognition demonstrates our ongoing efforts to implement improvements within the department, focusing on strategic implementation and customer care,” she added. Hajah Zanatul ‘Aini shared her hopes for the future, highlighting the department’s commitment to service excellence.
She said, “We aim to continuously improve our pharmaceutical and public health services to align with our goals.”
Director of the Directorate Development and Work Services at the Ministry of Defence (MinDef) Sr Hajah Wan Farhani binti Haji Suhaili meanwhile received a Silver Award at the 2024 Premier Innovation Award (AIP) for their innovative project, the Network Accessible Web Help Desk System (NAWHDS), developed by the MUSAEDAT team.
Sr Hajah Wan Farhani said, “We are honoured to receive this recognition, which shows our team’s dedication to improving service efficiency.”
She credited the success of the NAWHDS project to teamwork and collaboration within the MUSAEDAT team throughout its development and implementation.
Despite challenges in integrating the new system, the MUSAEDAT team successfully created a user-friendly help desk that improves response times and request management. Sr Hajah Wan Farhani noted that developing an intuitive interface was challenging but drove innovation.
She added that they will continue enhancing the NAWHDS and updating it to meet user demands, saying, “The Silver Award is just the beginning, and we are committed to improving service delivery in the MinDef.”
