The Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans (DANA) handed out BND100,450 worth of coupons for purchasing school supplies to orphans yesterday.
The coupons will help 1,435 orphans registered at the DANA Secretariat with BND70 worth of supplies for next year’s school term.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof as Chairman of the DANA Board of Trustees was the guest of honour.
Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, as a member of DANA Board of Trustees handed over the coupons to district representatives for distribution among the orphans.
Brunei-Muara District received 961 coupons, Tutong District received 220, Belait District received 169 and Temburong District received 85. Meanwhile, DANA also received a donation amounting to BND2,009 from the working committee of Yayasan Volunteers.
