Da’ie get boost as youth complete programme

Despite being new, the Da’ie Strengthening Programme made a significant achievement with an 80-per-cent increase in human resources of da’ie youth considered capable of managing and executing the da’ie youth programme.

Programme chairperson Siti Hurul-‘Ain Diyana binti Haji Abdul Majid @ Vieana said this during the scholarship awards and certificate presentation ceremony at the conference hall of the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) yesterday.

“Additionally, 33 per cent of these da’ie youth committee members are now considered qualified to assist the existing facilitators in leading and guiding specific programmes, particularly the Dakwah Academy,” she added.

Some 31 participants of the Da’ie Strengthening Programme received certificates from PDI Acting Director Haji Ahmad Abdussalam bin Haji Abdul Rahman.

The programme was organised by the Da’ie Youth Volunteer Body under the PDI’s Youth Religious Programme Secretariat.

Siti Hurul-‘Ain Diyana said, “The two-year programme, conducted from 2021 to 2023, allowed participants to undergo structured phases of gaining knowledge and skills required as a da’ie.”

She added that participants also learnt soft skills, problem solving, communications, public speaking, and giving constructive feedback.

Meanwhile, Head of Youth Religious Programme Secretariat Isham bin Ismail announced the scholarship awards.

Three participants were awarded with special scholarship to further their studies and enhance their practical skills in accordance with the needs of da’ie.

Several other awards were also presented at the event.

One of the Da’ie Strengthening Programme’s objectives is to raise the quality of da’ie internally through consistent development and from the perspective of master of knowledge and practical skills required.

It also aims to empower knowledge dissemination activities among da’ie through idea sharing, discussions and collaboration.

Additionally, it aims to realise the vision of da’ie youth in producing knowledgeable and certified young da’ie and religious scholars, accredited by the Brunei Islamic Religious Council. – Rokiah Mahmud
