COVID-19 vaccinations will be treated like flu jabs and are necessary to increase immunity against the virus from time to time.
Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar shared the current COVID-19 situation on the vaccination plans during the press conference yesterday. The minister also said studies are being carried out to produce vaccines against various COVID-19 variants.
“If these studies show good results, the Brunei Government will look for a way to acquire these vaccines,” he said.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman added to Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham’s statement by saying, “Deaths and infections are inevitable, especially in our move towards living in the new normal alongside the virus.
“However, it is every Muslim‘s responsibility to do the best they can to avoid contracting the virus,” Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin said.
