Continue with good deeds, says deputy dean

Everyone should continue to do good deeds and enhance worship, said Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) Deputy Dean at the Student Affairs Office Haji Mohammad Khairul Nazif bin Haji Damit.

He said this during a takzirah ‘Tests from Allah the Almighty’ at the 157th Munajat night at Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque in Mukim Kilanas on Saturday.

He also highlighted an Al-Quran verse from Surah Al-Baqarah, reminding attendees that Allah the Almighty does not burden a soul beyond its capacity.

The event, organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT), was attended by Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman and Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin.

The event began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Abdul Manaf.

This was followed by the recitation of Surah Ar-Rahman by Mohamad Sabiq bin Haji Sulaiman, an alumnus of Institut Tahfiz  Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and a graduate from Al-Azhar University, Maahad Qiraat Shoubra in Egypt.

The Munajat prayer was recited by Acting Assistant Director (Professional) of the Islamic Studies Department at the MoRA Haji Ayop bin Haji Ghani/Gani. Following the tazkirah, participants joined in the recitation of Selawat Tafrijiyyah.

A Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam was read by Mosque Affairs Officer at Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque Adee Aiman bin Haji Muhiddin.

The event included staff from both ministries, the mosque takmir committee, and congregants at the mosque, with virtual participants joining from 63 mosques, prayer halls and homes nationwide.

The Munajat night encourages the public to enhance their spiritual practices by seeking forgiveness from Allah the Almighty through istighfar, reciting verses from Al-Quran and collectively praying for the safety and well-being of the Sultanate and its citizens from calamities and harmful diseases. – Fadley Faisal
