Company slapped with BND2K fine for illegal dumping

A construction company was issued a maximum fine of BND2,000 after it violated the Miscellaneous Offences Act by disposing rubbish in a public area.

The company, based in Kampong Sengkarai was fined by the Tutong District Office after the offence was uncovered.

Another construction company was issued a BND500 fine for a similar offence.

Offenders were given seven days to settle the fine. Failure to do so will result in the matter being brought to court.

The Tutong District Office reminded the public that it is their civic duty to maintain the cleanliness of public spaces, especially at construction sites, commercial buildings and public areas. – James Kon
