Community food sales boost YASKA

The Britain Brunei Business Forum (BBBF) raised BND4,000 at a community food sale at Mabohai Shopping Complex on Sunday, benefiting Children’s Cancer Foundation (YASKA), a foundation supporting children with cancer. The event was officiated by BBBF Chair Pengiran Aki Ismasufian bin Pengiran Haji Ibrahim and YASKA President Tsara’ Nawwarah binti Abdullah Chen, who jointly cut a ribbon and toured vendor stalls featuring local businesses and individual sellers. In his remarks, Pengiran Aki Ismasufian expressed appreciation for the community’s support.

“Today marks our fourth community Food Sale and we are honoured to support YASKA this time. It is truly heartwarming to see the generous support from everyone here,” he said.

He added that BBBF serves not only as a network for British and Bruneian businesses but as a platform to give back to society.

“In the past, our efforts have supported Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam, the Brunei National Association of the Blind, and Demensia Brunei,” he added.

Meanwhile, Tsara’ Nawwarah expressed gratitude for the support, noting that the funds will aid YASKA’s programmes and bring comfort to children undergoing cancer treatment. The event also featured an Activity Area where YASKA children enjoyed crafts like stone painting and bracelet making, guided by volunteers from Zakaria Art Foundation and other supporters. – Lyna Mohamad
