MS ABDB and Chainblock Santai pulled their way to victory in their categories during the Belait District Tug-of-War Competition held on Sunday.
MS ABDB beat seven other teams in the 560-kilogramme (kg) weight group, triumphing over SPSS Tuggers in the finals.
MS PPDB was placed third in the runners-up match against KB Bull Brothers.
Meanwhile, Chainblock Santai was placed first in the 680kg weight group, winning the final match against MS PPDB.
SPSS Tuggers finished in third place after defeating MS ABDB in the category’s runners-up match.
Legislative Council member and Village Head of Kampong Bukit Sawat Yang Berhormat Mohammad bin Abdullah @ Lim Swee Ann presented the prizes and awards to the winning teams.
Organised by the RPN Kampong Panaga, Seria, Village Consultative Council in collaboration with the Belait District Office, the competition was held in conjunction with the 78th birthday celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
Organising chairman of the event and Village Head of Kampong Panaga ‘C’ Khairul Abidin bin Md Yassin was also present. – Daniel Lim
