Call for proper road tax placement

Every vehicle on the road is required to have a valid vehicle licence (road tax), in adherence to Road Traffic Regulations, 2007. The road tax should be displayed on the lower left corner of the front windscreen, the Land Transport Department (JPD) said.

Car owners must hold a valid motor insurance in accordance with the applied period to apply for road tax renewal.

This is applicable for cars below seven years (age of the vehicle has reached seven years from the date of registration).

For cars seven years and above, owners must obtain a Certificate of Roadworthiness from a Vehicle Inspection Station (VIS) appointed by the JPD.

Certificate may be applied one month prior to the road tax expiration date.

They must also have valid motor insurance in accordance with the period of road tax applied for.

The public can renew road tax via online through TransportBN and Gov.bn or at JPD counters in all branches or Post Offices.

The vehicle licence can be printed at JPD branches such as the JPD Headquarters in Beribi, Belait District branch, Mumong branch, Tutong District branch and Temburong District branch as well as post Offices at Gadong Post Office, Mail Processing Centre in Berakas, Muara Post Office, Seri Kompleks Post Office, Sengkurong Post Office, Seria Post Office and Tutong Post Office. – Azlan Othman
