I would like to call on the authority to consider extending the opening hours of public sports facilities, in particular the National Tennis Centre of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex.
At present, the centre opens from 8am to 9pm, with a break from 6-7pm, leaving those with work obligations a very small window to play the sport.
While it is understandable that the centre has to open during non-peak hours for those in the national scheme to have access to the facilities, adult recreational players, especially those who finish work at 5pm, are left to fight for the precious few slots.
It would be good to see the authority respond to the rising popularity by opening the centre at 6am and closing at 10pm, to meet the demand.
