Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah recently attended the World Governments Summit 2025 held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The summit was graced by the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi; and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai.
Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew also attended a bilateral meeting with Minister of Cabinet Affairs at the Prime Minister’s Office, UAE Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi. The meeting discussed developments in the cooperation with the UAE formalised through the memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Experience Exchange on Government Development and Modernisation and explored future cooperation efforts and proposed engagements with the hopes of expanding bilateral relations between both countries.
On the sidelines of the summit, 28 senior government officials participating in the Brunei Executive Leadership Programme (BELP) attended a graduation ceremony on February 10. The programme is an outcome of the MoU conducted in collaboration with the UAE Government Experience Exchange Office (GEEO).
The World Governments Summit 2025 was held from February 10 to 13 in Dubai under the theme ‘Shaping Future Governments.’
The summit provided a key platform to foster international cooperation in guiding participating countries to identify innovative solutions to future challenges.
The summit brought together governments, international organisations, and private sector leaders worldwide with a focus on six key themes: Effective Governance and Accountability; Financing the Future and the Global Economy; Climate, Crisis Mitigation, and Resilient Cities; Human-Centric Futures and Capacity Building; Global Health Transformations; and Emerging Frontiers and the Future.
