Brunei Darussalam will host the 21st Borneo Island International Big Bike Festival (BIIBBF) on December 8-10 this year following the postponement of the initial hosting scheduled in June 2020 due to the global pandemic COVID-19.
Darussalam Motorcycle Association (PEMODA) with principle BIIBBF motorcycle clubs mutually agreed to holding the biggest bike festival.
A meeting of the 21st BIIBBF with the festival committee members was held at the Tutong Youth Centre chaired by PEMODA Vice President in his capacity as Chairperson of the 21st BIIBBF Committee Mohamad Shahrin bin Shahbuddin.
The Sultanate will host the festival for the sixth time and the festival aims to expose to the world the beauty of religious, ethnic and nationhood life in the country, said Mohamad Shahrin.
He added that the festival targets 500 to 700 local and foreign participants.
Aside from PEMODA, principle BIIBBF clubs and associations, festival organisers involved are Sabah Big Bikers Association (SBBA), Sabah; Borneo Island Big Bikers (BIBB), Sarawak; Ikatan Motor Besar Indonesia (IMBI) Pontianak, Kalimantan; and LA Riders Club, Labuan.
Since 1998, the festival has been the biggest and the most prestigious big bike festival in Borneo to promote tourism in the country as well as the island. – Lyna Mohamad
