Brunei Darussalam will host the 39th ASEAN Senior Amateur Golf Championships next year following an official handing over of the Confederation of ASEAN Senior Golfers’ Association (CASGA) flag in Thailand.
Thailand Senior Golfers’ Association (TSGA) President Chadej Musigavong handed over the flag to Brunei Darussalam Association of Senior Golfers (BDASG) Deputy President Muhammed Lutfi bin Muhammad Hanif during the closing ceremony and prize giving of the 38th ASEAN Senior Amateur Golf Championships.
BDASG also attended the annual general meeting of CASGA which was chaired by Chadej Musigavong.
Thailand emerged as the overall champion and won the Lela Pahlawan Trophy with Malaysia coming in second place followed by Singapore in third.
The championship hosted by the TSGA attracted a total of 279 participants comprising golfers from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore and the host country Thailand.
Held at the Burapha Golf and Resort in Pattaya, the four-day long competition saw competitors battle for individual and team trophies. – Fadhil Yunus
