The Brunei’s men softball team enjoyed a strong start in the ongoing Asia Softball Masters 2024 held at the Sultan Ahmad Shah Airport Field in Kuantan, Pahang yesterday.
The local representative won two of their opening matches after defeating SG Masters 5-0 and Nice 17-2 to keep their title hopes alive.
Meanwhile, the Brunei ladies softball team edged Angels from Thailand 3-2 with Meyam Jaafar scoring the decisive winner in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Six male teams are participating in the tournament namely Brunei Masters, Hong Kong, Kobra from Indonesia, MY Masters from Malaysia, SG Masters from Singapore and Nice from Thailand.
Seven female teams are taking part namely Brunei Ladies, Japan, SG Queens from Singapore, Kobra Sisters from Indonesia, Angels from Thailand, HK Ladies from Hong Kong and MY Ladies from Malaysia.
The tournament is currently running until September 22. – Fadhil Yunus
