    Brunei records 38 COVID cases

    Brunei Darussalam detected 38 new COVID-19 cases yesterday with 28 local and 10 import cases. With the latest COVID-19 cases, the national tally of confirmed cases is 15,750.

    This was shared by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar during a press conference yesterday.

    The minister said the new cases were detected among 4,145 laboratory tests conducted in the past 24 hours showing the rate of positive cases at 0.9 per cent.

    Ten cases recovered yesterday bringing the number of recoveries in the Sultanate to 15,381 while total active cases are 267. The bed occupancy rate in isolation centres nationwide is 7.1 per cent.

    One case is in Category 4 requiring oxygen assistance and under close monitoring while there are no cases in Category 5 requiring artificial ventilation at the intensive care unit.

    As of January 11, 94.6 per cent of Brunei population has at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccination while 93.7 per cent administered two shots and 30.1 per cent with three jabs.
