Brunei Press Commercial Printing Services, in collaboration with Jerudong Park Medical Centre, organised a blood donation campaign at its premises in Beribi yesterday.
Norhazirah binti Haji Zainudin, who donated blood for the first time in 2006, revealed that she has since contributed another 10 times.
“The first time I donated blood was while working at Smart Telanai. Initially, I just wanted to give it a try, but after feeling comfortable with donating blood, it changed from novelty to having a desire to become an active donor,” she said. She also advised those who want to donate blood to eat and get enough sleep prior to donating.
“Donating blood not only helps to increase supplies at blood banks but also saves lives and helps those in need,” she added.
Meanwhile, Mohamad Rafie bin Lajim said this was his second time donating blood, with the first being two years ago at the Blood Donation Centre of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital.
Although still relatively new to it, he aspires to become an active donor in the future.
