Brunei Karatekas bag two silvers in SUKMA XXI

Brunei Darussalam’s Karate athletes bagged two silver medals on the first day of competition at the National Youth Skills Institute in Miri, Sarawak on Saturday during the 21st Malaysian Games (SUKMA XXI) 2024.  

In a statement by the Brunei Darussalam contingent, Farhah Syahirah binti Mohamad Shamrin won a silver medal in the Women’s Individual Kata event with 38.6 points, losing the gold medal to Lovelly Anne Robberth from Sabah with a score of 39.2 points.

Meanwhile, Awangku Ahmad Munib Aiman bin Pengiran Haji Hasimudin won silver in the Men’s 55kg Individual Kumite event, defeating three opponents before losing to Danesh Asyrraf Muhammad Nazri from the Federal Territory with a score of 1-7.

Brunei Darussalam’s total medal collection so far is one gold medal, two silver medals and one bronze medal.
