Brunei Esports athlete wins in Labuan competition

National esports athlete Haji Hazmi Hasnawi bin Haji Rosli emerged as the champion of the eFootball Pro Series 2023 in Labuan after defeating QE Okashira in the final with an aggregate of 7-4 in two match up.

Meanwhile, eFootball Mobile Development Athlete Awangku Md Suhail bin Pengiran Dr Haji Sofian was placed third in the group stage.

Esports Association of Brunei Secretary General Hawaii Yee said, “I’m very proud of Haji Hazmi Hasnawi in this achievement as he only recently joined our national team few months ago.

“He has learnt and grown a lot since his first competitive debut in Indonesia Football eLeague SEA Championship in Jakarta in June,” Hawaii Yee added.

Meanwhile, Haji Hazmi Hasnawi thanked Esports Association of Brunei for the chance to represent the national team.

”I’ve been dedicated to this game since 2019, and I’ve witnessed firsthand the potential that esports holds, particularly for the youth in the Sultanate.

“This potential aligns with Brunei Vision 2035, our national vision, emphasising innovation and youth empowerment. I urge everyone to join me in supporting our local esports organisations, for they are the backbone of this industry’s growth in our country.” – James Kon
