Bruneian racers finished strong in the Kuching Drag Challenge after securing podium finishes in several categories.
Tyjay Lee bin Mohd Lyzuan from Hondatech Racing won the Turbo Open title, while Iwan Azriman bin Abdul Jalil as chairman of the Hondatech Racing team took the 2WD Turbo Open title after posting the best time. He also finished first in the C-V-TEC NA Open.
A total of 118 racers from Brunei and Sarawak competed in the race event at Demak Laut Industrial Park in Sarawak.
Other Bruneian drivers that competed were JVM’s Jeff Ng San Shinn and Mohd Syafiq bin Abdullah, who put on a show in the Continental Challenge Open category with a one-two finish.
Sharol Raman from RZ Racing Team finished first in the 1600cc NA Street category.
The one-day race was organised by Performance Motorsports Club, and sanctioned by the Motorsports Association of Malaysia and Sarawak Motorsports Association (SMA) with the support of the Kuching City North Commission.
SMA president Senator Dato Ahmad Ibrahim presented the trophies and prizes. – Daniel Lim
