Brunei Darussalam attended the seventh Senior Officials Meeting Responsible Meeting for Information (SOMRI) Working Group Meeting on Information, Media and Training from December 6 to 9 in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Projects and initiatives that are currently held will be implemented by ASEAN member countries, especially in the fields of information and media.
The meeting was officiated by Cambodian Minister of Information, Ministry of Communications Khieu Kanharith
The meeting was chaired by Undersecretary of State, Ministry of Information Has Sam Ath while Sub-Coordinator of Post and Informatics Operations and Public Information-Communications for Regional Affairs from Indonesia Dian Wulandari was the deputy chair.
Representing the Sultanate was Acting Director of Information Siti Bismi Nuruliman binti Haji Awang Emzah as Chairperson of the Sub-Committee on Information (SCI) of the ASEAN Committee for Culture and Information (ASEAN COCI) of Brunei Darussalam and Head of the International Affairs Unit, Secretary of the SCI of the ASEAN COCI Mufidah binti Abdul Hakim.
The meeting was also attended by senior officials from ASEAN member countries and the ASEAN Secretariat.
The eight SOMRI working group meeting will be chaired by Indonesia next year.
