The British High Commission in Brunei Darussalam hosted a networking session followed by a workshop on the United Kingdom-Brunei Green Economy Framework (UK-BGEF) Report recently.
The report, prepared by Arup in consultation with the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE) as well as local stakeholders and international experts from the United Kingdom (UK), provides comprehensive insights, recommendations, and actionable steps towards a greener and resilient economy for the Sultanate.
The event at Radisson Hotel Brunei Darussalam brought together representatives from MoFE, Department of Energy at the Prime Minister’s Office and Brunei Climate Change Office and the Department of Electrical Services.
Deputy British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Catherine Pochkhanavala-Cleeve described the UK-BGEF Report as an important piece of work for the British High Commission, with economic diversification and decarbonisation being topics the UK is keen to provide support in.
The workshop delved into four key green economic opportunities – renewables; carbon capture and storage; hydrogen; and circular economy – along with exploring key enablers. – James Kon
