The Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society (BRC) marked another milestone in its establishment after signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) of an intelligent partnership with Singapore Red Cross at the opening ceremony of 19th Southeast Asia Red Cross Red Crescent Leaders meeting at Annajat Complex yesterday.

Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar was the guest of honour.

Signing on behalf of BRC was President Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yussof bin Pengiran Haji Bahar while Singapore Red Cross was represented by Secretary General Benjamin William.

BRC Secretary-General Sheikh Kadir Abdullah explained the benefits of the signing of the MoU: “It will provide opportunities for collaboration in training and capacity development programme, humanitarian education, global engagements and deployment, mental health social support, first aid and youth development programme.”

He also thanked Singapore Red Cross for the initiative in bridging the opportunity with BRC and hoped the cooperation will further enhance capacity engagements in both organisations.
