ANN/THE KOREA HERALD – Boeing Korea announced yesterday that Will Shaffer has been appointed as its new president.
Operating out of Seoul, Shaffer will be responsible for managing the company’s strategies and operations in the Korean market. Alongside this role, he will also serve as vice president of globalisation and market development, overseeing Boeing’s strategic initiatives beyond the United States (US).
His focus will include developing country-specific strategies, assessing global geopolitical risks and identifying new growth opportunities.
“Will brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of leadership within Boeing, making him well-suited to guide our operations in Korea and lead the global strategy team during this crucial time,” said president of Boeing Global Dr Brendan Nelson AO.
Shaffer previously led Boeing Japan for over five years before taking on the role of vice president of growth planning at Boeing Global Services.
With more than a decade at Boeing, he has held several leadership positions, including director of supply chain for product development and director of supplier management for raw materials and standards.
Before joining Boeing, he served as a Lieutenant Commander and P-3 pilot in the US Navy.
“I’m honoured to join Boeing Korea. It has a growing customer base, a strong network of suppliers and partners, and a world-class research and development facility,” said Shaffer.
“I believe even greater opportunities lie ahead.”
