(ANN/THE KOREA HERALD) – Lisa from Blackpink has been announced as one of the performers for the 97th Academy Awards.
She will be the first K-pop artist to hit the stage at the awards ceremony, showcasing her solo track “Born Again” alongside featured artists Doja Cat and Raye.
Describing the trio as “three global superstars,” the organiser wrote on social media that in “one epic Oscars moment,” the three artists will “take the stage for a show stopping celebration of cinema.” The ceremony for the awards will take place on March 2.
“Born Again” was released earlier this month and debuted on Billboard’s Hot 100 at No. 68 last week, achieving the highest spot for her solo track on the main songs chart. This is a prerelease from her first solo LP “Alter Ego,” set to be released on Friday.
